The Nassau Community College women's volleyball team continued its late-season surge with two Region XV victories on Saturday, defeating Hostos Community College 3-1 and sweeping Bronx Community College 3-0. The Lions improve to 14-5 overall and 11-2 in Region XV conference play. Nassau holds onto third place in the conference standings with three games remaining in the regular season.
How It Happened
- Hostos Match (3-1):Â Nassau opened the day with a strong first set, taking a 25-16 win behind 13 kills from Rhianna Miller and six more from both Alanice Rios and Alexandra Pierre-Saint. After dropping a close second set 26-24, the Lions bounced back with sharp hitting and serving to close out the next two sets 25-16 and 25-7. Rios delivered five service aces, and setter Jocelyn Teel tallied 18 assists. Nassau hit .324 and .368 in the final two frames to secure the match.
- Bronx Match (3-0):Â The Lions carried that momentum into the afternoon, sweeping Bronx in straight sets. Miller and Pierre-Saint led the offense again with five and four kills, respectively, while Teel dished out 11 assists and added five aces. Rios and Ramlogan combined for seven more aces from the service line. Nassau's blocking game was key, with Pierre-Saint totaling four solo blocks, as the Lions controlled each set 25-12, 25-15, and 25-17.

- Miller totaled 18 kills and 19 digs across the two matches, hitting .167.
- Pierre-Saint recorded 10 kills and four solo blocks on the day.
- Rios added 11 kills, 10 digs, and 10 service aces.
- Teel finished with 29 assists and nine service aces.
- Ramlogan tallied 30 digs combined over the two wins.
- Nassau hit .136 in the opener and .174 in the second match, totaling 35 service aces between the two contests.
