Lions Continue Win Streak with Win Over LaGuardia

Result

The Nassau Community College men's soccer team extended its winning streak to six with a 7-0 victory over LaGuardia Community College on Tuesday evening at Mitchel Field. The Lions continued their dominant Region XV form with another multi-goal performance and a fourth straight shutout. With balanced scoring and strong defensive organization, Nassau improved to 7-2.

How It Happened

  • First Half: Nassau exploded offensively, scoring six times before the break. Jeremy Ramos opened the scoring in the 6th minute with an unassisted goal to put the Lions ahead early. In the 18th minute, Juan Nunez made it 2-0 off a feed from Mohamed Alsayedi. Ramos struck again in the 24th minute, this time assisted by Alexis Gomez, before Nunez returned the favor with another Gomez assist in the 29th. Just two minutes later, Alsayedi buried his own goal, also set up by Gomez, for Nassau's fifth tally. Cristhian Ramos Monsalve capped the half in the 41st minute with a goal assisted by Nunez to make it 6-0 heading into halftime.
  • Second Half: Nassau kept up the pressure but added just one more goal in the 76th minute, when Alsayedi found the back of the net for his second of the day on an unassisted effort. Goalkeeper Bryan Hernandez preserved the clean sheet with two saves.

  • Ramos and Nunez each added two goals, while Gomez tallied three assists.
  • Ramos Monsalve scored once, assisted by Nunez.
