Nassau Women Compete in Freestyle Action at the Nassau Wrestling Open

The women's division of the Nassau Wrestling Open was contested as a freestyle open tournament, bringing together collegiate and open competitors in a variety of competitive formats. Nassau Community College's women stepped onto the mat with confidence, gaining valuable freestyle experience while earning multiple podium finishes against strong regional opposition.


Faith Juwana – 103 Pounds

Faith Juwana represented Nassau well in the 103-pound division. After dropping an early match, Juwana responded in dominant fashion, earning a decisive pin to secure a key victory.

Her ability to bounce back and finish matches strong earned her a second-place finish, highlighting her resilience.


Caitlin Reilly – 110 Pounds

Caitlin Reilly competed in a tightly contested freestyle series at 110 pounds, facing a tough opponent in back-to-back bouts. Reilly battled through each match, gaining important experience in a high-intensity freestyle setting.

Her efforts resulted in a second-place finish, adding another podium placement for Nassau and reinforcing her role as a consistent contributor to the program.


Mora Peterson – 117 Pounds

Mora Peterson turned in a strong performance in the 117-pound division, showcasing both control and finishing ability. Peterson secured a notable pin victory during her run..

She later competed in a closely contested match that was decided by a narrow margin, ultimately earning a second-place finish. 


Karen Ramirez – 160 Pounds

Karen Ramirez faced an early setback in her first match but responded, earning a pin to stay in contention and finish the tournament strong.

Her performance earned her a second-place finish.


Momentum Continues for Nassau Women's Wrestling

The Nassau Wrestling Open provided an important opportunity for Nassau Community College's women to compete in a freestyle environment and test themselves against experienced competition. Across multiple weight classes, Nassau wrestlers demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to battle through every position.
