The Nassau Community College men's volleyball team defeated Passaic County Community College by a score of 3-0 on Friday evening in the first match of the Monroe University Invitational.

How it Happened

• Both teams played an evenly matched first set until Nassau scored five unanswered points to pull away late in the set and win 25-19
• Passaic hit just .136 in the second set which helped to give Nassau a comfortable lead through most of the set, finishing 25-16.
• The Panthers continued to battle in the third set, but the Lions finished strong with 16 kills in the set compared to four by Passaic. Nassau took the final set by a score of 25-20.

Notes

• Christopher Thomas led the team in kills with 15, along with five service aces and nine digs.
• Setters Jeremy Jara and Mustafa Pasha each totaled 11 assists, and Hunter Dunn collected 10 assists.
• Pasha also contributed four kills and six digs.
• Hussan Kahn totaled seven digs with five kills and three service aces.
