The #2 Nassau Community College men's lacrosse team defeated Howard Community College by a score of 22-7 on Sunday afternoon.
How it Happened
- Ryan Krudis scored the first goal of the game, assisted by Cameron Clarke, at 13:16 on a man-up opportunity after a slashing penalty by Howard.
- Jake Lewis scored just nine seconds later, assisted by Jack Lepore.
- Jack Lepore scored one of his own at 11:37 before the Dragons scored their first goal of the game at 10:08.
- The Lions then scored five unanswered goals, and Howard scored two more before the horn, for Nassau to lead 8-3 at the end of the first.
- Nassau scored three quick goals in the first two minutes of the second quarter to make the lead 11-3. Both teams found more opportunities to score within the period, and the Lions led 15-5 at halftime.
- Howard tried to gain momentum with a goal 30 seconds into the second half, but the Lions later answered back with seven of their own in the third quarter.
- Nassau went 4-12 on man-up opportunities, while Howard could not capitalize and went 0-6.
- Nassau took 32 shots on goal, compared to 17 by Howard. Nassau stands 4th in the NJCAA in shots on goal percentage with 64.8%.
