Nassau Community College men's volleyball earned a straight-sets victory over Middlesex College on Thursday night, winning 25-13, 25-20, 25-19 to improve to 4-2 on the season. Nassau controlled all three sets with efficient offense, strong serving, and steady defense. With contributions throughout the lineup, the Lions closed out the match quickly and continue to build momentum as conference play approaches.
How It Happened
Nassau set the tone immediately in the opening set, jumping out to an early lead behind efficient attacking and aggressive serving. Johncarlo Rivera and Thomas Wildeman each recorded early kills, while Dom Cieleski orchestrated the offense as the Lions quickly built separation. Nassau hit .750 in the opening frame and closed the set on a dominant run to take a 25-13 win.
The second set featured more resistance from Middlesex, which stayed within striking distance through the middle stages. Nassau responded with steady play at the net, as Tristan Harrison and Dillon Wallace delivered timely kills to halt Middlesex momentum. Service pressure from Brandon Barrios and Cieleski helped the Lions pull away late, closing the set 25-20.
In the third set, Nassau remained in control despite several long rallies. Wallace and Wildeman combined for multiple points during a mid-set surge, and the Lions capitalized on Middlesex service errors down the stretch. Nassau closed out the match with consistent defense and balanced offense, sealing the sweep with a 25-19 victory.
