Coach Dominick Zappia embarks on his 18th season in coaching and his 4th season with Nassau Community College, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record to his role as Defensive Line Coach. With a career that began at the youth level and progressed through high school, Coach Zappia has established himself as a versatile and effective coach.
Coach Zappia started his coaching journey as an Offensive Line Coach at the youth level, gradually advancing to high school football. His tenure at Long Island Lutheran High School was marked by significant success, where he honed his coaching skills and made a considerable impact on the program.
In 2020, Coach Zappia joined Nassau Community College as an Offensive Line Assistant Coach. During his time in this role, he played a crucial part in developing several NCC football student-athletes who achieved 1st and 2nd team All-American honors. His contributions were instrumental in the success of the offensive line, showcasing his ability to cultivate top-tier talent.
Two seasons ago, Coach Zappia transitioned to the position of Defensive Line Coach. This move allowed him to apply his extensive knowledge of offensive and offensive line play to the defensive unit, enhancing the team's overall performance. His unique perspective and experience have been invaluable in developing a strong and competitive defensive line.
