Coach Theron Grinage is an accomplished football coach currently serving as the Defensive Line Coach at Nassau Community College. With a robust background in both high school and college football coaching, Coach Grinage brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to his role.

A distinguished alumnus of Hofstra University, where he played college football from 1997 to 2002, Coach Grinage's journey in coaching began shortly after graduation. He started his career teaching and coaching middle school football at ABGS Middle School in Hempstead, NY. His early roles as both an assistant and head coach at the middle school level laid a solid foundation for his coaching philosophy and leadership style.

Coach Grinage’s career trajectory led him to South Side High School in Rockville Centre, NY, where he served as the Defensive Coordinator. His expertise and leadership were further honed during his time as the Defensive Line Coach at his alma mater, St. Francis Prep High School. Additionally, he had a significant impact as the Head Coach of Hempstead High School, where his strategic acumen and passion for the game were evident.

Transitioning to the college ranks, Coach Grinage joined LIU Post as the Defensive Line Coach from 2013 to 2017. During his tenure there, he played a key role in securing two NE-10 Conference Championships, showcasing his ability to develop and lead competitive teams.

Since 2017, Coach Grinage has been a vital part of the Nassau Community College coaching staff, where his leadership has contributed to three postseason appearances and a Red Grange Bowl victory in 2018. 

Coach Grinage’s extensive coaching experience, combined with his background as a player, underscores his deep understanding of the game and his dedication to player development and team success. His leadership and strategic insight continue to be invaluable assets to the Nassau Community College football program.
