Lions top #5 Ranked Harford to Stay #2

(Garden City, NY) The second ranked lions took on the fifth ranked owls from Harford Community College in Maryland on Saturday March 24th at Hofstra University.  

The owls came out of the gate on fire scoring three goals in the first quarter while the Lions only had two tallies.

After the first quarter, the Lions held the Owls scoreless for the next three quarters for a total of 45 minutes which is quite remarkable.  Billy Kelly was impressive in the cage yet again while Taylor Jensen, Brian Schaefer, Haze Rainis, Aidan Conk, Dave Mahler, Vin DeCeglia, Kevin Meaney, Scott Sasso and Tyler Butrico led the impressive defensive effort.

The lions warmed up a bit in the second quarter, scoring three goals and taking a 5 to 3 lead into the half.  In the third quarter the Lions came out hot, rattling off 6 goals to make the score 11 to 3 after three quarters of play.  Nassau scored three goals in the fourth to solidify the 14 to 3 victory.

Eddie Munoz and Justin Roderka led the scoring effort with 4 points each (2G, 2A each) while Aldrich Cheng chipped in with 3 points (2G, 1A) of his own.  Dylan Villari had 2 points (2G), while Braydon Cresswell, Evan Killen, Jack Mullen, Taylor Jensen, Danny Pulis and Trevor Regnier rounded out the scoring with a goal a piece.  Mike Kadnar and Tyler Butrico has an assist each.
