(Garden City, NY) The Nassau Lions had a double header over the weekend against Queensborough Community College. It was the third game in a series against the Tigers. The tally was 1-1 and the Lions were looking to change that.

The game was completely scoreless until the bottom of the 5th. The Lions were at bat and John Capozzoli took the plate. He hit a single on a 1-2 count to push in one run. With the help of Thorin Sanchez and Marino Sorbaro who both had big hits that helped score, the Lions were up 3 to nothing. 

The Queensborough Tigers were unresponsive. The Lions found one more run in the bottom of the 7th inning to make the final score 4-0. 

Wesley Harwood captured the win for NCC. He threw a shut out of zero hits in 7 innings, as well as struck out five batters and walked only one. Overall, the Lions didn't commit a single error in the field.

A short intermission and the Lions were back for round two with the Tigers.
