(Garden City, NY) NCC competed in their last game of the Queensborough series double header on Sunday. In the series the Lions were up 2-1, and were attempting to take home one more win.
Nassau jumped to an early lead of 5 in the first inning, making the score 5-1. Queensborough did what they could to answer snagging 2 runs in the top of the 2nd. Unfortunately, the QCC Tigers just couldn't hold on, and in the 4th inning, the Lions started to pull away. They scored 2 in the 4th, 2 in the 5th, and 3 in the 6th. NCC was crowned victorious, winning 13-5.
Top scorers were
Morgan McCarthy, Mike Iacobellis, and
Luke Lospitalier who all hit singles in the first inning to help put the Lions ahead. Overall, the team had a total of 10 hits. TJ Toscano, Lospitalier, and McCarthy lead the team in hits with 2 each.
Nassau Baseball will be back on Tuesday to match up against Monroe Express.
