Day 1 (Warwick, RI) Over the weekend, Nassau Women's Basketball traveled to Rhode Island to compete in the CCRI Invitational. They played 2 games, their first being against the University of Connecticut at Avery Point. During the this season, UCAP was previously ranked number 5 in the region.
The Lions got out to a bit of a slow start, but lead UCAP from the 1st quarter. They scored 28 points alone in the 2nd, putting them up by 13 going into halftime. The Lions continued to drive in the second half going on a 10-0 run to extend the grasp from UCAP. They held UCAP to only 16 points per quarter. In the final quarter, the Lions executed and scored 29 points to finish the game, 98-65.

Brian Kuar commented post game, "We played extremely hard today. We had a solid team effort, especially when we came out slow. We were able to pick up the pace in the second half and execute."
Next up for NCC is the Community College of Rhode Island on Sunday.
Day 2 (Warwick, RI) On Sunday, NCC went head to head with the Community College of Rhode Island. CCRI is an NCAA division II program.
The first half was a lot of back and forth between the two teams. NCC scored 15 in the first quarter, but only 11 in the second. CCRI was up by 1 going into halftime. The Lions had a strong second half scoring 22 points in the 3rd quarter and hitting 9 key free throws in the 4th quarter to solidify the win, 64-58.
Overall, NCC hit 13 total free throws in the second half. Bri'Anna Jones tallied 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Cherish Francis also had 18 points and 4 steals.

The Lions come out of the weekend 2-0. Overall, they are now 14-5 and 8-2 in conference play. Next up they will host Brookdale Community College at home next Saturday.
