(East Meadow, NY) Women's Tennis hosted their last home game of the 2019 season against the Fashion Institute of Technology on Sunday.

Angie Barralaga and Nicole Russi played first doubles and found success in the strategy of hitting multiple shots between their opponents to get on the scoreboard. But the Tigers made fewer mistakes and took control of the match to secure the win.

In singles, Barralaga covered the court well. However, her opponent's groundstroke game was strong and consistent allowing FIT to miss very few shots and claim the victory. Alexis Caruso also played singles. She was extremely accurate in her 1st serve, allowing her to ace her opponent multiple times. Unfortunately, after a solid battle, the Lions were defeated 9-0.

Head Coach Barry Kubit commented post game, "The women played well today. They made FIT earn each and every point, which we've been working on all season. I couldn't be more proud of where they've come this season."
