(Pikesville, MD) The second match of the 2019 season for Nassau Men's Lacrosse was on Sunday against Stevenson JV in Maryland. The Lions were coming off of a great season opener against Harford CC the previous day and looking to carry that momentum into the match.
Stevenson jumped to the lead from the beginning, forcing the Lions to play catch up. It wasn't until the second half that the Lions started to cut down the Mustangs lead, but they fell just short. Stevenson came out victorious, 9-7.
Sophomore
John Ehlers pushed the pace for the entire team by getting his teammates the extra positions they needed. Ehlers also had a great day of face-offs. He won 7 out of 10 draws, finishing the day at 70%. Additionally, teammate
Dan Rooney had a standout day finishing with a total of 5 goals.
Head Coach
John Savage commented, "I felt like we started off a little slow, but as time went on we found our pace. We fought for this one, but just couldn't finish today. This is something we will certainly be focusing on this week at practice."
The Lions bring their opponents home for the first time this season with a home opener against Anne Arundel CC on Sunday, March 3rd.
