Men’s Lacrosse with a Double Digit Win Over Brookdale

(Garden City, NY) On Tuesday night the Men's Lacrosse team took on the Brookdale Jersey Blues. The crisp chill in the air made for a perfect night for a match.

From the first whistle, NCC dominated. They managed to hold possession of the ball for a majority of the first half. John Ehlers locked down the face-off, winning 19 out of 20 matchups.

Going into the second half, the Lions played great defense in front of goalies Lucas Alper who had one save, and Anthony Perrone who had 3. Malik Grant and Mike Spitaletta anchored the back line for NCC and did an exceptional job of holding the Jersey Blues to a shut out in the second half. The midfiled line, made up of Sean Marklin, Tim Brockwell, and Liam McGarvey along with attack men Pat Behrens, Toraine Rodney, Connor Farrel, and Cristian Perez played an aggressive offense and controlled the entire second half.

Nassau walked away with a 24-1 victory. They stand at 6-1 overall for the season.

Outstanding players were Sean Marklin, who led the team in goals scored with 4. He also had 1 assist. Toraine Rodney came in with 2 goals and 2 assists. Pat Behrens and Rob Connors recorded 3 goals each. Tanner Germain and Justin Roderka both had 2 goals and 1 assist. Connor Farrell tallied 1 goal and 2 assists, while Dan Rooney finished with 1 goal and led the team with 3 assists. Liam Muldoon and Tim Brockwell both contributed with 1 goal and 1 assist. David Sanzone, Aldrich Cheng, Cristian Perez, and Liam McGarvey all recorded 1 goal. Vin Varrone recorded 1 assist for the game.

Head Coach John Savage commented after the game, "It was a great day for the entire team.  We won a lopsided game with class, which can be challenging at times.  Everyone got involved and it gave the athletes that are still developing a chance to play a substantial amount of time and contribute in a big way. We are very proud of everyone."

Next up for Nassau will be their first conference game against Suffolk CC on Saturday in Selden, NY.
