(Garden City, NY) The final game of the 4 game series with the Lions and the Tigers from Queensborough commenced on Sunday afternoon. Going into the match, Nassau led the series 3-0.
Both teams got out to a slow start with neither of them scoring in the first 2 innings. Nassau was the first to score in the top of the third, recording 1 run. Queensborough answered in the bottom of the third, scoring 2 runs and taking the lead. The game was scoreless until the seventh inning, where the Lions tied the game at 2 when Mike Iacobellis grounded into a double play, and managed to score one run. Nassau held off the Tigers until the bottom of the ninth inning, where they snuck in one run to go up 3-2 and take home the final victory of the series.
As a team the Lions tallied 9 hits in the game.
