(Selden, NY) On Thursday night, the #1 ranked Nassau Women's Basketball team played their Long Island rival, Suffolk.
The Lions came out quick in the first quarter, and went up by 11 before the Sharks could even respond. The score was 14-3 at the end of the first quarter. Suffolk tried to fight back and stay within scoring distance of the Lions, but coming back from halftime, Nassau went on a 16-0 run to kick things off. They scored a total of 29 points in the third quarter and held the Sharks to just 9. Nassau took home the win with the final score of 70-32.
Bobbi Green scored a career high of 30 points, as well as had 5 rebounds and 6 steals. Abby Babatunde had 15 points and 9 offensive rebounds, while teammate Zarria Franklin finished with 6 steals. Overall the team had 30 steals combined.
