(Rochester, MN) The Nassau Lions as an At Large Bid into the NJCAA Men's Basketball National Tournament took on the Montgomery CC Mustangs in the first game. The Lions were being out played in the first half, as MCCC was on point from beyond the 3 point line.
During the first half the Lions had 10 turnovers and were shooting under 45% from the field. On the other side of the line the Mustangs' Cameron Reid was 4-4 from beyond the 3 and lead the field with 14 points. The Lions went into the halftime behind 24-30.

A.J. Wynder's 23 years of experience was evident during the second half. At one point down by 13 points, the Lions showed their true grit and responded. In the last 8 and a half minutes the NCC Men out scored the Mustangs 24-7. This incredible run sealed the victory for the Lions and a second round game.
Huge plays were made by
Javen Soto and
Patrick Gardner. Soto lead the team with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Gardner had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Off the bench
Ahunna Okoko added 12 points and 3 assists.
