Box Score (Garden City, NY) The wind was howling almost as much as the Nassau Crowd was during the Lions dominate performance over the Onondaga Lazers. The Nassau Lions entered the game as the #3 team in the country, facing the #1 Onondaga Lazers. The frosty air was the personification of the attitudes the lions entered the field with; dropping the national championship to the Lazers the past two years has never left the home team's mind. But when the final buzzer went and the lions left the field with a 18-4 win, and message to the rest of the country.
The lions took the field and put the gas down never letting up. The score at the half was a stunner to the entire lacrosse community across the country. 10-0. Let me say that again. The Nassau Lions led the #1 team in the country TEN to ZERO at the half. The offense did the scoring but it was the lockdown defense led by goalie
Matthew Borodin.
Jack Pucci finished the game with 7 goals and Borodin finished with 19 saves. Coach Savage has the entire team playing as one, and even through there was outstanding individual efforts this was a team win.
Congratulations to the Nassau Lions as they look forward to their next game traveling to Genesee CC on March 14th.
