The Nassau Community College women's volleyball team defeated Rockland Community College by a score of 3-0 on Thursday evening in the quarterfinal round of the Region XV tournament. The Lions advance to the semifinal round to be played at Dutchess Community College on Saturday, November 2nd.

How it Happened

• Both teams battled in the first set, but a .209 hitting percentage with 14 kills helped Nassau take the first set 25-18.
• Nassau gained momentum as they started the second set on a 6-0 run. The momentum carried through as the Lions finished the set off five consecutive service aces by Elizabeth Wagner to take the set 25-8.
• Nassau totaled 33 kills, compared to Rockland's 15, and totaled 15 service aces.

Notes

• Sarah Kollarik led the team in kills with 11.
• Setter Elizabeth Wagner recorded 28 total assists and six service aces.
• Hannah Clarke and Alanice Rios each added three service aces.
• Hannah Clarke and Alexandra Pierre-Saint had two solo blocks each.
• Libero Allison Salinas totaled 17 digs.
