Result

The Nassau Community College men's basketball team defeated Bunker Hill Community College by a score of 81-51 on Saturday evening in the season opener. Last season, Bunker Hill defeated Nassau told 67-66 in the opponent's sole matchup of the year. 

How it Happened

• Nassau Community College opened the game with a quick start, taking an early 12-0 lead. The Lions continued to put the pressure on, shooting 50% in the first half and taking advantage of 13 Bunker Hill turnovers. Nassau led 46-18 at halftime.
• Bunker Hill started the second half on a 10-0 run, but still wasn't enough to cut down Nassau's lead, which would grow to as large as a 34 point lead in the second half before ending with a final score of 81-51.
• Nassau totaled 28 points off of 21 Bunker Hill turnovers, and scored 18 second chance points.

Notes

• Sean Walsh led Nassau in points with 16, including three three-pointers, along with four rebounds and three steals.
• Isaiah Lariosa scored a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
• Dante Howard led in assists with seven, and scored eight points with four steals.
• Nicholas Bologna contributed six points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
