The Nassau Community College men's basketball team defeated Queensborough Community College by a score of 71-67 on Tuesday evening.

How it Happened

• Nassau and Queensborough played a closely matched first half, with the visitors edging out Nassau 27-25 at halftime. Nassau's largest lead in the half was eight points with 9:21 remaining, but Queensborough then scored eight consecutive points to tie the game.
• Both teams improved their shooting percentage in the second half. Nassau shot 58.1% for the half, while Queensborough shot 50%. The largest lead held by either team in the half was five points.
• Nassau led by one point with 38 seconds remaining, before a key steal by Sean Walsh and a foul sent Walsh to the line and hit two free throws to put the Lions up 70-67.
• After a missed Queensborough three-pointer with four seconds left, Nicholas Bologna grabbed the rebound and drew a foul to secure the win for Nassau with a made free throw to lead by four points.

• Sean Walsh led Nassau in points with 26, including four three-pointers. He added four rebounds and five steals.
• Donte Howard put up an impressive stat line with 24 points, seven assists, and six rebounds
