The Nassau Community College men's volleyball team traveled to Glen Ellyn, Illinois for the NJCAA Invitational Championship April 12-14. The Lions went 1-2 in pool play after having defeated the host, College of DuPage, 3-1, then dropping their matches against top-seeded Monroe College and Ocean County.
After reseeding, the Lions found themselves against the top seeded defending National Champions, Finger Lakes CC. The Lions would manage to take a game, however would be defeated by Finger Lakes, 3-1, who went on to win their second consecutive invitational championship.
The Lions then found themselves in the consolation bracket in which they faced Northampton. The game found itself coming down to five sets with Northampton ultimately winning 3-2.
Congratulations to the men's volleyball team, Head Coach
Nick O'Malley, and assistant coaches Jason Siriban and
Steven Lopez. This was the men's volleyball inaugural season, and within this season they were Region XV runner-up, and had several players earn All-Region honors. They finished the season ranked within the top eight in the nation.
