How It Happened

Game 1: Nassau 11, Queensborough 3

Nassau wasted no time setting the tone in the opener. In the bottom of the first, Patrick Sebber reached base and aggressively moved into scoring position, setting up Chris Lonergan's RBI groundout to open the scoring. Moments later, Aidan Quinn singled to keep the inning alive before Caiden Siegel delivered the biggest swing of the frame, a bases-clearing hit that drove in three runs and gave Nassau a quick 4-0. lead.

Queensborough answered in the second inning, capitalizing on walks and timely hitting to plate three runs and cut the deficit to 4-3. However, Nassau responded immediately.

In the third inning, Zaim Deljanin and Ryan Jazylo helped spark another rally, getting on base and creating scoring opportunities. Chris Lonergan came through again with an RBI, and Nassau added two more runs in the inning to push the lead to 7-3.

The Lions continued to apply pressure in the fifth inning, stringing together hits and forcing defensive miscues. Daniel Reynolds singled and later scored, while Deljanin added another RBI knock as Nassau extended the lead to 10-3.

Nassau added an insurance run in the sixth inning, taking advantage of another walk and advancing runners with smart baserunning to cap the scoring at 11-3.

On the mound, Nassau settled in after the second inning. The bullpen delivered strong relief, limiting Queensborough to just three hits total and shutting down any chance of a comeback over the final innings.

Game 2: Nassau 22, Queensborough 5

The second game started with early adversity, as Queensborough struck for three runs in the top of the first. But Nassau responded immediately.

In the bottom of the first, the Lions exploded for seven runs, fueled by patience at the plate and constant pressure. Multiple walks loaded the bases, and timely hits from Aidan Quinn and Michael Jazylo helped Nassau quickly flip the game to a 7-3 advantage.

The second inning turned the game into a rout. Nassau drew several walks and capitalized with clutch hitting, erupting for eight runs in the frame. Sebastian Figueroa delivered a key multi-RBI hit, while Eric Sharp added extra-base power to stretch the lead to 15-3.

Queensborough added two runs in the third, but Nassau continued to answer. The Lions scored again in the third inning and then broke the game wide open in the fourth, plating six more runs. Nick Simone reached base four times and scored repeatedly, while Sharp, Figueroa, and Quinn continued to drive in runs.

Nassau's offensive discipline was the story of the game, drawing 19 walks and constantly putting runners in scoring position.

On the mound, the Lions managed the game effectively after the first inning. Despite early runs allowed, Nassau limited Queensborough's offense the rest of the way and secured the 22-5 run-rule victory.
