Box Score 2 (Hudson, NY) Over the past weekend, Nassau Women's Volleyball made their 2017-2018 season debut on the court at the Columbia-Greene Invitational.
Their first match was against Springfield Community College. It was a close game from the start, and ended up going into overtime. The Lions took the win 69-64.
Niyah Ellis &
Nicole McCann both had double-doubles in points and rebounds. Ellis tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds, while McCann had 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Samantha Capobianco came in with 13 points and 4 rebounds.
Victoria Mercado led the scoring with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Next up for the Lions was Columbia-Greene Community College. NCC had a bit of a slow start only scoring 4 points in the first quarter. They started to make their way back, but couldn't catch up with CGCC. They were defeated 70-45, making them runner-up winners of the tournament.
Victoria Mercado finished with 19 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
