Nassau Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Bryant Lassiter as the new head coach of the women's basketball program.
Lassiter brings extensive experience at both the NCAA Division II and III levels, having most recently led SUNY Old Westbury's women's basketball team from 2021 to 2024. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at NYIT, where the program reached the ECC Championship game three times, won a conference title in 2019, and made two NCAA Tournament appearances.
A former standout at NYIT, Lassiter still holds the school record as the all-time leading scorer with 1,913 points and went on to play professionally, including time with the Harlem Globetrotters and overseas.
We are thrilled to welcome Coach Lassiter to Nassau, said Athletic Director Kerri-Ann McTiernan. His combination of collegiate coaching experience, professional playing background, and commitment to student-athlete development makes him the perfect fit to lead our women's basketball team and continue the successful legacy of our program.
