Box Score (Garden City, NY) Last Wednesday, the Nassau Women's Basketball Team went head to head with rival Kingsborough Community College.
The Kingsborough Wave has always had the reputation of playing hard, but NCC was prepared. The Lions were on fire from the moment they stepped onto the court. They shot over 50% from the field and built up a solid 50-22 lead prior to half time.
Setting the tone for the rest of the game, the Lions went on a 12-3 run within the first 2 minutes of the second half. Nassau scored 28 points in the 3rd quarter alone. The Lions kept the pressure on with the defense, helping them scrape up a few key steals and lead them to easy layups. Overall NCC tallied 30 steals for the game. They took home the victory, 94-43.

Brian Kuar commented, "We played hard and took care of the basketball. We got out in transition and capitalized on some easy baskets. It's always exciting to get ahead and run with it."
Outstanding player of the game, Lindsay McBean, scored a career high of 27 points. She shot 5 for 9 from 3 point range and 6 for 7 from the field. Other standouts were Cherish Francis,
Diana Lemus, BriAnna Jones and Bobbi Green. All individuals contributed 10 points or more to the Lions victory.
Next up for Nassau is on Saturday against Manhattan Community College.
