Women's Basketball Climbs to 16-0 Record After Win Against Kingsborough

(Brooklyn, NY) On Tuesday night, the Nassau Women's Basketball team laced up their sneakers to take on regional rival Kingsborough.
 
In the first half, both Bobbi Green and Lindsay McBean scored double digits. Green recorded 10, while McBean had 11 to help give the Lions the leg up early on. 
 
Coming back from halftime, the Lions didn't let up, but Kingsborough pulled themselves together and brought the heat. In the third quarter, The Wave snagged 16 points, while Nassau barely outscored them with 17. In the fourth quarter, Nassau's defense knew they needed to tighten the reins and managed to hold Kingsborough to just 1 basket. The final score was 93-36, Nassau.
 
Individually, All-American Bobbi Green scored a career high of 26 points. Abby Babatunde tallied 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Teammate Emily Pohalski had 13 points, 4 steals, and 4 assists, while Lindsay McBean ended with 11 points and 5 steals. Ashley Barrett finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 assists. The Lions go on to be 16-0 for the season.
 
Head Coach Brian Kuar commented after the game, "We are extremely proud of the effort that the women displayed not only today, but the effort they display day in and day out. They consistently put in the extra mile in practice. We firmly believe in the mentality that if we win in practice, we will win in games."
 
The Lions will stay on the road as they compete against Queensborough on Thursday.
