Lions Deliver Breakthrough Performances on the National Stage
The Nassau Community College men's track & field team delivered an impressive showing at the 2026 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, competing against some of the top junior college programs in the nation from May 7–9 at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Led by championship performances, relay success, and multiple podium finishes, the Lions proved they belong among the elite programs in NJCAA Division III competition.

Jeremaiyh Burch Captures National Title in the 800 Meters
Freshman standout Jeremaiyh Burch headlined Nassau's championship weekend by winning the men's 800-meter run national title.
After qualifying first overall in the preliminaries with a strong time of 1:58.36, Burch elevated his performance in the finals and crossed the line in 1:56.66 to claim the NJCAA Division III national championship.
Burch's tactical racing and finishing speed separated him from a talented field and earned Nassau Community College 10 crucial team points.

Nassau Men's 4x400 Relay Earns National Runner-Up Finish
Nassau's relay squad continued the momentum with an outstanding performance in the men's 4x400-meter relay.
The quartet of Jeremaiyh Burch, Mark Roberts, Jayden Ashley, and Cahill Louis combined for a season-best effort of 3:22.48 to finish second overall in the nation.
The relay team advanced through preliminaries with a qualifying time of 3:27.14 before delivering an even stronger race in the finals.

Mark Roberts Places Fourth in the 400-Meter Hurdles
Freshman hurdler Mark Roberts added another major performance for the Lions by placing fourth nationally in the men's 400-meter hurdles.
Roberts first advanced through preliminaries with a time of 57.76 before lowering his mark in the finals to 58.04.

Roberts also played a key role on Nassau's nationally ranked relay squads throughout the championship weekend.
Nassau Sprint Relay Team Finishes Among Nation's Best
The Lions also earned All-American honors in the men's 4x100-meter relay.
The relay team of Ahmad Crosby, Jaidyn Lacey, Mark Roberts, and Shamir Lisbon qualified for the championship final with a time of 44.22 before improving to 43.50 in the finals to place sixth overall nationally.
