Fondly known as “Beaver,” Draffen led Nassau to consecutive NJCAA championships in 1972 and 73. A speedy midfielder and a
superb stickhandler, Draffen helped the Lions go unbeaten (32-0) during his two years. The Garden City native continued his superb play after transferring to Hobart where he earned all-American honors in 1974 and 75. He was recently inducted into the Long Island-Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
